Dear parents, faculty, and students:

I am your current PTSA President, Carrie Petersen, and I want to invite – no… challenge – you to get more involved in the “what”, “how”, “when”, and “why” of your child(ren)’s education at CHS this year! For less than 3 cents a day, you can become a voting PTSA member, joining more than 5 million other people who share your interest in the issues affecting our children, school, and community. Your membership fees are used to directly benefit CHS students and faculty by helping us meet our goals for the year. If you have any questions at all about our organization and the plans to enrich our school’s environment, including scholarships, health, SAT/PSAT preparation, assembly topics, faculty and staff recognition, and more, that prepare our kids for the brave new world they will be entering sooner than we want to admit, please feel free to contact me, personally, via email:

Membership forms will be available at Back-to-School Night (Thursday, September 21 @ 6:30pm CHS Auditorium). Parent/Student membership cost $10; teachers $5, which not only gives you a louder voice at CHS, you are also a member of the National PTA, where these additional benefits await you.

Our meetings are held at Chesapeake High on the 2nd Thursday of each month in the Teachers Lounge at 7:00 p.m.
